Version 1.31 Released! QOL, Special Stage Controls and Legde Animations


Version 1.31 of Sonic 3D in 2D is here!

This new version brings in a bunch of fixes (also addressing a severe bug in the pause system when used in special stages), new ledge animations that were absent on some characters (that were made for my Sonic 3 Air mods, and an entirely new one for Amy), along with improved accelleration controls in the special stages.

Improvements

- Added an "Exit" option in the title screen to ease it for users in full screen.

- Shadow, Amy, Super Sonic and Super Ashura now have new Ledge animations completing their animation sets.

- Amy can now press in game buttons with her hammer when standing

- Robo Sonic will now fall to the ground if destroyed mid-air.

- Weakened the power of two fans in a secondary path of Gene Gadget 1 to allow Shadow to latch on the wall behind them and continue on it. While he would not get softlocked by the fans they were still forcing unnecessary backtracking when playing as him.

- Reduced Tails' tails hitbox against Eggman's vertical laser in Panic Puppet 1

- Halved charge time and slow down time of the panic puppet zone spinning elevators in Panic Puppet Zone

- The mouse cursor is now hidden on screen from the start, and active only inside the controls screen (which is the only area where it can be used, by the way)

- Drastically improved character decelleration on the ground when changing direction in the special stages. Characters are now able to invert direction in 5 frames (0,083 seconds) compared to the original 18 (0,30 seconds). This should improve the slippery feeling they had so far when on the ground.

Addition:

- Added Vecnazak in the credits as tester. Thanks for your efforts man!

Fixes:

- Fixed a bug with Amy's air actions and Silver Sonic, preventing her to bounce properly.

Special thanks to Vecnazak for reporting the following bugs:

- A new game without any save file present will now correctly load the character select menu and display "New Game" as its first option.

- Fixed a controller issue that would not register directional inputs in the special stages when the deadzone is set to max for the controller

- Fixed a bug that would not disable regular pause menu navigation when entering special stages. This would cause both regular and special stage navigation to be active at the same time and glitch the pause menu for the rest of the game session.

- Fixed a bug that made impossible to damage Robo Sonic while rolling.

- Fixed a layering error with the flashing frames for the Metal Series robots.

- Added missing code for Amy's air actions against Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic and Silver MK2. Now she bounces correctly when hitting them (this is not the same as Silver's bug listed above).

- Shadow can no longer aim at the weakspot of the Egg Cage once defeated in Panic Puppet Zone 1

- Shadow's homing reticle will now correctly disappear once eggman is defeated in Panic Puppet Zone 1.

- Added code to allow the animation between the boss phases in Final Fight to play correctly if the player ended the phase at the edges of the platform.

- Added a space to correctly display "Sonic 3D in 2D" instead of "Sonic3D in 2D" in the credits.
