Version 1.06 Released - Save System Upgrade!
Hello there people! This update brings along some fixes and an upgrade to the entire save system of the game, to keep track of the big rings used, to save the emeralds in your game as soon as you get them (you no longer need to clear both act to save them!) and to carry over your shield to the next stage if you complete the level with it.
Old savegames are still compatible, but saves from 1.06 might not work correctly if, for some reasons, you want to use them with previous versions. You've been warned!
Save System Update!
Savegames have new functionalities!
Once Big Rings are used they are consumed, and they won't reappear until the current game is cleared or a new game is started.
- It will no longer be possible to quit the game and resume the stage to reuse a big ring until the game is cleared.
- A bug that didn't reset the big rings used between the same gaming session has been corrected.
Obtained Emeralds are saved as soon as they're obtained.
- This will keep emeralds obtained during act1 and 2 if a gameover happens.
- Closing the game after the bonus stage is completed will keep the obtained emerald.
Shields are now kept when entering a big ring and leaving it, and in the transitions between Acts.
- Despite this, shields will not be carried over to Final Fight.
- To prevent Sonic from entering Tails's path in Panic Puppet Zone 2 with an electric shield and get stuck, a nut has been placed higher so that it can't be reached with a double jump.
- Optimized the code of the floating rocks in the Caldera during Volcano Valley 1 Boss Battle
- Fixed Tails Tail animation before the bridge collapse in the ending of Rusty Ruin Zone 1
- Added some disable slope checks to Green Grove 2 to prevent an occasional improper collision in the vines above the waterfall part.
- Fixed a bug that caused the level clear theme to start twice if sonic is bouncing repeatedly with a bubble shield in stages that ended with a capsule.
Special thanks to gutturalslug for reporting the following bug:
- Modified the layer control in a ramp path to prevent players to accidentally backtrack into a Knuckles only route in Gene Gadget Zone Act 1 and get stuck.
